how to play colossal vikings

In this article, we will teach you how to play Colossal Vikings, the strategy board game for 2-4 players.

First, each player chooses a Viking chief and places that chief on the central "Viking Ship" tile. The rest of the players then take turns placing their other Viking figures on any of the remaining empty spaces on the board.

The youngest player starts the game and play passes clockwise around the table. On a player's turn, they must do one of the following:

-Move one of their Vikings to an adjacent space

-Pick up one of their Vikings and place it in an adjacent space

-Attack an opponent's Viking with one of their own Vikings (more on this later)

The goal of the game is to be the first player to move all four of their Vikings onto the "Viking Ship" tile.

Players can only move their Vikings along pathways between castle spaces – they cannot move through walls or other obstacles. If a player moves their Viking into a space with an opponent's Viking, then that opponent's Viking is captured and removed from the board. The captured Viking's owner then takes another turn. If there are no opponent's Vikings in a space, then that space is considered "owned" by that player and they can place one of their own Vikings there as part of their next turn.

A player can also choose to attack an opponent's Viking with one of their own by moving their Viking into a space adjacent to the opponent's Viking and then declaring an attack. The attacking Viking and the defending Viking both roll one die each, and whoever has higher total number wins the battle (unless there is a tie, in which case both Vikiings are captured). If the attacking Viking wins, then they capture the defending Viking and remove it from play; if they lose, then nothing happens. A player can only attack an opponent's Viking if they have at least one unoccupied adjacent space available for them to move into – otherwise they cannot attack.
